qatar tv – Production Design
We were approached by Al Kass Sports Channels to create a production design for Qatar TV based in Doha. The show would be for 8 weeks on prime time TV in Qatar. This included a main TV studio set. A virtual set & a live stage with augmented reality.

BROADCAST SET DESIGN
We had a space of 12000sqm to create the production design. With a height of 15000. This had to include the main studio set where students would produce a short film, editing suites, directors offices, production meeting rooms, storage for props & camera’s, canteen, a live stage with an audience and a grand entrance.
production design – Concept Story Line
Our unique production design for Qatar TV is based around a fabulous central feature making it easy to film with cameras and recognise each of the zones instantly. The circular design adds drama as you walk into the amazing stage design with layers of glass, projection and light. The whole feeling of the production is to be futuristic with cutting edge technology.
Feature Futuristic Pods
These futuristic PODS are a one-off unique design made to look distinctive. So viewers will be talking about the pods as one of those unforgettable features of the show. Each pod is mechanical so the pod could move around in a circle formation. Pod LED lighting in zone colours. Cameras to be were used overhead and in set up hidden areas.
Stage Set Design
The stage will be built into the wall and ceiling panel sections with large projector screens and video walls in the middle of the stage. Panels to the side of the stage with LED & stage lighting. Changing the colours of the stage and mood. The idea of the LED panels is that they light up at different stages of the production as the presenter walks onto the stage. The stage floor panels on the stage will be made out of toughened glass and have visual effects on the floor from projector screens.
The main audience seating area will be on different levels. There is a desk to seat 3 presenters and seating for special guests. The side walling will be a huge truss system – with black stretched stage fabric/and side walling.
Final Show – tv SHOW Winners
On the final night of the show. The whole stage will light up with all the panels going into a virtual 3D effect with the full lighting special effects on the floor, ceiling and walls. You will be able to view the winning film from every camera angle.
This will look stunning with the projection screens and lighting and look magnificent for the viewers. With VIBRANT COLOURS, SOUND AND MUSIC.

Other work includes a studio design and build for Alaraby TV. Which includes a 16m curved video wall, a studio desk and augmented reality.
